Description:

This is an exciting opportunity to lead a small trauma informed team delivering therapeutic interventions to a secure Children’s home.
The team is truly multidisciplinary and contains psychiatrist, GPs ACP, psychologists, nurses, social worker, speech and language therapist, occupational therapist and drug and alcohol worker.
The team functions within a secure children’s home which is managed by South Gloucestershire Council. The team is commissioned to provide health and wellbeing services to the young people.
As team leader you will be the operational leader of the service working alongside the Band 8c Clinical Lead providing leadership and management to the team and being a single point of contact for the South Gloucestershire Leadership team.
Vinney Green Secure Unit: Located in South Gloucestershire, this unit accommodates up to 24 young people (ages 10-18) who are remanded, sentenced, or detained under the Children Act 1989. AWP and Hanham Health work in partnership to provide integrated mental health and primary care services.
To provide operational management and leadership for all staff and volunteers in the team and area of your responsibility.
Along side your manager you will ensure the development of Integrated Business Plan and to ensure delivery of key targets in relation to service performance, integrated governance, workforce planning, partnership development and financial sustainability within your team.
To work in close partnership with Service Users, Careers, Clinical Staff, Trust performance Management and Finance Staff, Corporate Services, Human Resources, Community Care, Independent and Not-for-Profit Organisations in the delivery of operational services.
The post holder will contribute to the development of the identity and structure of the area of your responsibility, ensuring clear accountability within their area of responsibility and establishing clear accountability for all key result areas and performance management arrangements to ensure effective service delivery

1. To contribute to the achievement of corporate and Strategic Business Unit objectives by leading effective operational management of the Community or Inpatient Team under your responsibility.
2. To take management responsibility for the operational delivery of services across your nominated responsibility and to ensure safe and effective services for our service users.
3. To work alongside your manager and contribute to help developments in strategic thinking, National Drivers and Trust Policy.
4. To liaise at a local level with Service Users, Careers, Staff and Partners in both statutory and non-statutory fields, ensuring that there is shared understanding of service provision and commitments.
5. To be responsible for the delivery of Health and Safety responsibilities as required by statute, regulation, legal obligation and Trust policies within the defined area you’re responsible for.
6. To ensure full compliance of all staff within the area of operational management, with key mechanisms to support the clinical delivery of safe and affective services, Health and Social Care data entry, incident reporting, serious untoward incident review and complaints.
7. To implement and monitor effective processes for the line management of staff including: agreeing and maintaining appropriate ward establishments, caseload management, controlling use of overtime, bank and agency and ensuring processes are undertaken for recruitment, induction, objective setting, appraisal, supervision, rostering, vacancy management, absence management, investigations and grievances.
8. To ensure staff compliance with processes to protect Service Users, Careers, Communities and Vulnerable Adults.
9. To ensure compliance with legal and statutory duties related to Mental Health Act, Mental Capacity Act, Police and Criminal Evidence Act.
10. To contribute to, and take specific leadership responsibility for service redesign promoting the development of practice in line with national policies and evidence base.
11. To ensure involvement of the area of operational management in service planning, delivery, choice, and governance including the maintenance of links with key groups/networks such as Third Sector Partners, Commissioners, Stake Holders and Service User Representatives.
