Description:

Clinical and Professional 1. To offer highly specialist assessments and consultations to patients with complex mental health difficulties2. To provide relational psychotherapy to individual patients and groups (if the post holder has relevant training in group psychotherapy)3. To provide a detailed formulation of the service users difficulties following each assessment / consultation and a written summary of the assessment with suggested recommendations4.
To liaise with Recovery teams, provide consultancy and identify appropriate care pathways for patients with complex needs within secondary services5. To work jointly with multidisciplinary colleagues within secondary services offering consultations, case management and case-based discussion and providing expert advice6. To participate in joint assessments with Recovery staff to support staff in planning care pathways for individuals and to support skill development7. To participate in the locality CPI referral meetings8.
To participate in clinical supervision and caseload supervision arrangements provided by the CPI service9. To provide clinical supervision to psychiatry trainees and contribute in that way to the mandatory training of psychiatry trainees in the Severn Postgraduate Medical Education footprint, therapists working under clinical license, CPI staff and staff working in the Recoveryteam10. To provide management supervision to Band 7 psychotherapists working in CPI, and to other CPI professionals, if needed. Performance and information management 1.1 Ensure that you and your team understand all of the agreed key performance indicators for your service, particularly relating to outcomes and essential standards to be met.1.2. Ensure that you and your team understand data quality standards and that all the necessary records for your service are maintained and reported. Service development and planning 1.1 To have a specialist lead role in the development of the provision of relational / psychodynamic psychotherapy within CPI1.2 To work collaboratively with the consultant Medical psychotherapist of the team in managing service demands and capacity1.3.
To advise the CPI Director, and the local Clinical Managers about service priorities and potential developments in the provision of relational / psychodynamic psychotherapy1.4. To participate in CPI service management and consultation meetings, providing local CPI advice1.5. Actively seek opportunities for improvement for the services, which you and your team provide by identifying research evidence and best practice elsewhere, interpreting/translating and facilitatingadaptation for AWP.1.6. Ensure multidisciplinary involvement and the use of quality improvement (QI) techniques in service improvement, by negotiating shared solutions, facilitating the resolution of complex or contentious issues and managing any conflict into constructive outcomes.1.7.
Ensure effective risk identification, analysis, mitigation and management within your services, encouraging all members of your team to be aware of and to manage risks. Governance and policy 1.1 Ensure that you understand all of the key governance requirements, policies and standards for your services and that these are communicated to your team; make sure your team understand theimportance of good governance.1.2 Support the development of policies relevant to your services, including your team in this work
