Description:
BHRUT is working in collaboration with Barts Health NHS Trust to implement a new cross care setting, real time, patient centric Electronic Patient Record (EPR) system that will improve the quality and delivery of care to the patient. The new system Oracle Health Millennium will be implemented as a domain extension from Barts Health to BHRUT. The Trust will continue to support its existing application eco-system until the new EPR is delivered in Spring 2025.
The post holder will advise and support key stakeholders from Clinisys, Barts Health, BHRUT and East and South-east London (ESEL) Pathology Partnership and to take predominant responsibility for coordination, management, and delivery of interfacing Oracle Health Millennium EPR with existing Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) as Phase 1, followed by standardising LIMS in BHRUT with the same digital system used at ESEL as Phase 2. The post holder will work with EPR Programme Director to ensure delivery of both phases, where Phase 1 aligned with EPR timeline, followed by Phase 2 based on mutual agreed implementation plan which then segways into Primary Care Order Communications projects.
The post holder will use robust project management methodology as well as initiating and contributing to the delivery of both phases of LIMS.
We would welcome informal enquiries in advance, and ask all internal BHRUT staff to discuss any secondment opportunities with their existing line manager before applying.
This will involve working across multiple departments and sites of the Trust and with clinical stakeholders, laboratory managers, partner agencies, suppliers, primary care and community groups and other stakeholders.
The post holder will ensure timely implementation of Phase 1 interfacing Oracle Health Millennium EPR with existing Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) followed by Phase 2 of ESEL LIMS system and associated workstreams without adversely affecting the EPR implementation timelines.
Engage with key stakeholders in clinical and operational user groups to agree scope of implementation; identify any risks and issues and produce mitigation plans including any outline costs, to address these with the suppliers and/or internal teams.
Establish appropriate project, workstream and governance meetings in conjunction with internal and external stakeholders to ensure a regular governance is followed.
Create and endorse project implementation plans with EPR Programme Director, ESEL Pathology Partnership and Barts Health experts to ensure a single version of project plan is endorsed by all key clinical and operational stakeholders for sign-off at the EPR Programme Board.
The post holder will be responsible for mitigating risks and issues in relation to cost, timeframe and interdependencies with other programmes and finding relevant solutions to address these.
Present weekly highlight reports to LIMS and EPR project governance boards for clarity and regular updates.
We’re an organisation that is getting better and better. We were the most improved Trust in England for A&E performance in 2023/24; we’re no longer in special measures; and Matthew Trainer, our Chief Executive, has been named the top CEO by the Health Service Journal. Our improvements are driven by a determination to deliver care we’re proud of and that our patients are happy with.
Many of our 8,000 staff – who come from 146 different countries - live in the three diverse London boroughs we serve and the majority are from black, Asian and minority ethnic groups. More than 400 of them are on apprenticeship programmes and we’re proud to be a London Living Wage employer.
We operate from two main sites - King George Hospital (KGH) in Goodmayes and Queen’s Hospital in Romford. We have two of the busiest emergency departments in London – more than 300,000 people visited our A&Es in 2023.
Patients across north east London are benefitting from two new state of the art theatres at KGH and our Community Diagnostic Centres at Barking Community Hospital and St George’s Health and Wellbeing Hub will significantly increase the number of scans that can be carried out.
We’re looking forward to introducing an electronic patient record next year. This will mean the records of any patient visiting one of the seven hospitals run by BHRUT and Barts Health will be accessible to the clinical teams. It’ll make things easier for staff and will be better for patients.
