Description:

Lead the Way for Ultrasound Services: Lead Sonographer Opportunity at West Hertfordshire Teaching Hospitals Trust.
Are you an experienced sonographer with strong leadership skills? Are you passionate about driving improvements and shaping a future of exceptional patient care within Ultrasound Services?
Following successful acquisition of a community ultrasound service; we are seeking a dynamic and forward-thinking Band 8b Lead Sonographer to join our growing ultrasound team.
You will collaboratively lead ultrasound services across our sites at Watford General Hospital, St Albans City Hospital, Hemel Hempstead Hospital and Elstree. The post will start in February 2025.

Responsibilities:

  • Be an expert clinical practitioner; managing complex caseloads.
  • Lead on governance, quality assurance, teaching and supervision in addition to a complex clinical caseload
  • Lead and manage a multidisciplinary team including sonographers, trainee sonographers, assistant practitioners and assistants working in the ultrasound department.
  • Collaborate with other Lead Sonographers, Lead Radiographers, Consultants and Radiology Service Managers.

    Demonstrate empathy, compassion and listening skills, working with patients staff and other personnel.
    Lead team meetings, appraisals, manage clinical sessions and answer patients’ queries.

    Keep up to date with networking, research and protocols.
