Mental Health Nurses work within critical areas of our Acute Service
Our Emergency Department treats people who have serious and life-threatening injuries and conditions. Patients attend with a range of mental health conditions.
The Acute Medical Unit is a fast-paced environment, specialising in assessment and treatment of patients presenting with acute medical complaints, many of whom also present with complex mental health needs.
Our team also work closely with the multidisciplinary teams on the general wards and as an RMN you will be supporting (often 1:1 nursing) complex patients with their mental health needs.

As a Bank Mental Health Nurse, you will increase your skill set by working with multidisciplinary teams to deliver all aspects of patient care.

Responsibilities:

YOUR MAIN DUTIES WILL INCLUDE:

The postholder will be responsible for delivering care to people with mental health issues who are receiving inpatient care in an acute physical health setting. This care will often be delivered on a 1:1 basis.
Supporting all clinical areas of the Trust as and when required.
Taking personal responsibility and accountability for ensuring that Trust and local policies and procedures are known and followed and ensuring duties are carried out in accordance with the advisory guidelines and practice set out in the NMC code.
Being responsible for assessment, planning, Implementation and Evaluation of patient care.
Taking responsibility for the supervision and guidance of other staff including health care assistants and students as required.

SUCCESSFUL APPLICANTS FOR THIS ROLE WILL:

Hold RN (Adult) Registration with current NMC license to practice
Have relevant experience within the last 18-24 months - newly qualified staff require 15 months post qualification experience (3 months preceptorship and 12 months appropriate experience)
Have a drive to work hard, enthusiasm and the ability to commit to a four day induction programme if successful
Have right to work in the UK (with relevant Adaptation/ONP if applicable)
