Description:

Roles and responsibilities Successful applicants will be expected to produce high quality imaging services to assist in diagnosis and treatment and will also be responsible for training and supervising junior staff and students. Our staffs are our most important asset whom we want to ensure reach their full potential Responsibilities include: Clinical Responsibilities: Perform standard imaging and non-imaging Nuclear Medicine procedures efficiently and to the highest quality standards on both paediatric and adult patients Administer Radioactive dose, Handle radioactive sources and order radiopharmaceuticals Perform image processing and Perform quality assurance tests and keep a log of radioactive waste Perform all clinical duties in accordance with the Health and Safety work act, The Environment Permitting Regulation 2010, IRR2017, IRMER 2017, Data Protection Act 2018 and relevant guidance notes and the department local rules Comply with and be able to demonstrate safe infection control measures Comply with and be able to demonstrate and instruct safe manual handling techniques. Ensure that all patients receive the best possible standard of care Participate in the on call and stand by rotas as required To undertake any other duties this may be appropriate to the post. Communication: Communicate effectively by taking an active role through verbal, electronic or written methods with professional colleagues Demonstrate perspective taking when dealing with patients, customers and fellow staff alike so that all views are understood and considered.
Communicate with other staff members to ensure the smooth running of the directorate Report and record all equipment faults as well as be able to assist with the diagnosis and remedy of routine faults Quality Participate in audits and quality initiatives Ensure documentation are accurate and up to date Participate in updating Standard operating Procedures for the department on evidence based practise Personal and People development: Approach all situations with curiosity, interest and with the potential to innovate. Commitment to ensuring own development by exposing self to all necessary modalities at Chelsea and Westminster Hospital or West Middlesex University Hospital. Assist with practical training of junior staff and student radiographers, acting as a role model through leading by example. Proactively demonstrate interest in developing oneself professionally by proposing QI projects, collecting data and presenting at inter/national conferences.
Participate in research studies conducted at CWHFT, including those as part of Imperial College. To offer an initial assessment and interpretation of images produced by themselves or more junior staff in the course of their role. Strive to achieve competencies required to progress to band 7 roles. Maintain a high level of commitment to, and take responsibility for continuing professional development (CPD).
The post holder is encouraged by the department to attend both personal and professional development activities that assist in their role and the service. The post holder will be required to actively participate in a periodic professional development review, in accordance with Trust guidelines.
