Description:
JOB OVERVIEW
Epsom & St Helier Trust are looking for a Bank Band 8a Principal Pharmacist lead for the Out patient service - they will be responsible for leading the team, completing all KPI work & managing supply of medication to all out-patients.
The department will be required to provide a co-ordinated pharmaceutical service, which is broad-based, cost effective and efficient and to promote safe, legal, rational and economic use of medicines and all allied products to all its clients.

Responsibilities:
MAIN DUTIES OF THE JOB
- To participate in, manage and develop all Trust out-patient dispensing services in line with the pharmacy and Trust strategy.
- To ensure timely and efficient delivery of out-patient services responding to changes in national, local or Trust strategic direction or operational challenges.
- To direct and control the work of staff accountable and ensure that this work is carried out safely and efficiently and respond promptly and appropriately to any new guidance
- To work on both sites and align pharmacy out patient service.
- To liaise with clinics and prescribers to improve the service provided to, and the experience of, our patients by proactively discussing issues that are having a negative impact on our service. This may include, but is not limited to, discussion with prescribers about poor prescribing practice or giving patients unrealistic expectations on when their prescription will be ready.
- To oversee the Trust home delivery and patient counselling service.
