Description:

Chef Band 3 Bank Worker Position
The Catering Services Department of the Dorset County Hospital is seeking to employ a qualified Chef to join our team in providing a service to Patients, Staff and Visitors within the Trust. This is a bank position.
Early starts at 06.30 until 14:00 and late finish from 11.30 - 19.30, or 18:00 to 02:00 AM weekends and bank holidays working with enhanced pay (including Christmas & Easter) is required of the post . Therefore, applicants would need to be flexible in the hours worked.
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced chef Band 3 to join the Catering Department. As part of the team you will.
Maintain the procedures in place for food safety and quality for a
range of different dietary requirements within the hospital. These
include handling allergens, religious diets, and modified textures.
Work closely with all catering personnel to assist with the running of
the kitchen and catering department as a whole
Ensure that the departments due diligence and HACCP procedures
are met for the safety of our patients, staff, and visitors.
Accurately prepare and develop our dishes and seasonal menus in
and amongst the chef team and pass on any ideas or feedback to the
managers.
Guide, support and develop new or junior members of the catering
team.
Prepare and cook quality food from raw ingredients for the patients,
visitors, and staff of Dorset County Hospital

This is a flexible bank position within Catering Services and would involve the successful applicants to work as part of a team cooking meals and dishes using where possible fresh / local ingredients.
The successful applicants would be able to demonstrate a desire for good food, cookery and customer care skills and be able to undertake on-line training
