Description:

GENERAL

· Work cooperatively with other cooks and assistants in organizing and preparing meals.
· Provide good customer service to guests
· Maintain a safe environment for guests and staff in the kitchen and dining areas, following Five Oaks Health and Safety Policies and Health Unit Guidelines.
· Opening, closing and cleaning of the kitchen facilities.
· Must be available to work mornings, afternoons, evenings, and weekends to accommodate the need to staff various shifts.
· Be able to work alone and in a team setting.
· Taking care of food handling and storage according to government regulations and standards.
· Consistent and reliable transportation to and from Five Oaks.

SUMMARY OF DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Five Oaks is looking for a hardworking, enthusiastic individual who works well in a collaborative environment to join our team! The position of Banquet Cook at Five Oaks is primarily weekends from lunch service to dinner.
The role of Banquet Cook at Five Oaks is to aid and assist the Head Cook in daily kitchen operations, providing banquet and catering services to our guests onsite and offsite.
This position will involve all aspects of the kitchen, prep work, cooking, washing dishes, serving guests, set-up and tear down of buffet line.

ACCOUNTABILITY

The Banquet Cook reports to and is directly supervised by the Kitchen Catering Manager and in their absence the General Manager. The relationship between staff and Board is founded on a basis of honesty and mutual respect. It is understood that the Cook and management team are there to support and uphold the mission of Five Oaks Centre, and in this regard, are working together toward the same goal.
This position will be 20-30 hours per week. Shifts can range between (6am - 9 pm) with regular weekend shifts, based on business demands, flexing to overtime hours per week during peak seasons.
All relevant aspects of this position will be carried out and supervised in compliance with human rights legislation and employment equity objectives as set out by the Ontario Employment Standards Act.

Pay: $18.00-$22.00 per hour
