JOB DESCRIPTION: BARTENDER

Job Title: Bartender
Department: Restaurant - Front of House
Department Head: Director, Food & Beverage
Job Summary: The Bartender is responsible for preparing and serving beverages, ensuring quality and consistency, and providing exceptional service to guests. This position requires attention to detail, the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment, and a commitment to maintaining a clean and organized bar area.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Previous bartending experience preferred
  • Familiarity with iPad POS systems or ability to learn quickly
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
  • Attention to detail and commitment to high standards of service
  • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
  • Team player with a positive attitude and strong work ethi

Responsibilities:

Beverage Service:

  • Prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks according to recipes
  • Take orders and provide drink recommendations

Bar Maintenance:

  • Set up and break down the bar for each shift, ensuring cleanliness and readiness
  • Keep the bar clean and organized
  • Stock and replenish supplies (glassware, garnishes, etc.)

Guest Interactions:

  • Greet guests, take drink orders, and engage with them to ensure satisfaction.
  • Handle guest concerns or complaints professionally

Compliance & Safety:

  • Follow Ontario SmartServe policies
  • Take on additional duties as assigned by the Director, Food & Beverage
  • Maintain a clean, safe work environment by adhering to health and safety standards
