Description:

DESCRIPTION

The manual loading of redundant batteries from multi-floor customer locations, and the onward transportation of wastes to the relevant disposal outlet, in compliance with all relevant legislation and safety requirements.
Performing the safe manual loading and collection of redundant batteries at customer sites on a multi collection route on a national scale.

Responsibilities:

  • Carry out the manual loading of waste batteries at customer sites, with and without support from a driver’s mate.
  • Safe use of equipment required to complete collections from customer sites, including safety checks prior to and after use and the timely reporting of any faults or safety issues.
  • Ensure all waste not presented for collection at the designated collection point is recorded and reported, as requested.
  • Completion of all compliance documentation as per the Hazardous Waste Regulations.
  • Adherence to ADR Regulations regarding the carriage of dangerous goods.
  • To comply with legal requirements and Company policies whilst responsible for the allocated company vehicle.
  • Where applicable, working with your driver mate as part of a team, to safely load and collect the waste efficiently and compliantly.
  • Where applicable, working on your own following the company lone working practices.
  • Effective reporting of any near misses, security and/or safety issues, at customer and Enva sites.
  • Adherence to customer security and safety requirements whilst operating at their sites.
  • Ensure waste is loaded correctly and safely and all spillages are cleared up immediately.
  • Ensure when emptying vehicle at designated disposal point ‘local’ sites rules are complied with.
  • Check vehicle and report all incidents including tip damage prior to leaving site.
  • To carry out and record routine maintenance, daily checks, defect reports, tachographs, domestic hours logs and vehicle washing and interior.
  • To adhere to all Company safety rules and current legislation regarding, vehicle, sites, wearing of uniform and PPE issued.
  • To remain polite and respectful with all colleagues, members of the public and client representatives at all times.
  • To assist the Company in achieving its published Business Objectives and complying with all procedures in line with the ISO system.
  • Any additional duties as required.
