In this highly visible role, you will have the opportunity to use your broad skills as a test technician, and apply them to next generation battery development for Apple products, pushing the boundaries battery innovation!
DESCRIPTION
• Assemble batteries into carriers for testing using basic hand tools. • Place loaded fixtures into semi automated test stations. • Load and unload carriers from thermal chambers. • Perform mechanical and electrical measurements on devices according to SOPs. • Communicate issues observed in samples, process, or documentation to supervisor. • Enter data into shop floor system as needed. • Adhere to safety protocol and lab guidelines. • Support failure analysis efforts, as guided by engineers. • Job duties may require additional work like assisting in organizing of inventory and warehouse. • This role will require to work weekends.
- Associates degree or 5+ years experience in electrical testing of devices (e.g., in medical devices, semiconductors, solar, aerospace or battery industries).
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Have a previous track record of success conducting tests - should also be able to process and summarize data.
- Possess a high level of attention to detail with handling of samples and test data.
- Possess experience with electrical and mechanical lab measurement equipment (measurement gauges, volt and impedance meters, as well as automated test equipment, etc).
- Must be able to work in a repetitive environment.
- Ability to follow documented procedures and give feedback on existing or missing procedures.
- Good communication skills in order to report issue clearly and effectively.
- Experience with battery cycle life testing using Maccor or Arbin testers is a plus.
- Experienced in handling of Lithium ion batteries.
- Experience in wiring and soldering.
- Safety training in previous jobs.
- Experience working with torque wrenches and thickness gauges preferred.
- Lifting requirement (weight) 30 lbs.
