REQUIREMENTS

  • Must have a third level qualification in a technical discipline - Construction/ Civil Engineering /Building Surveying or other related area
  • Relevant experience in a in civil engineering or construction role
  • Full understanding of Building Control Regulations and Code of Practice
  • Full understanding of construction sequence of works
  • Technically strong with excellent communication skills
  • Full valid driving license is required

Responsibilities:

ROLE SUMMARY

The BCAR Engineer is responsible for the collation of all project documentation.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES

  • Carrying out quality inspections on all works, and reporting to senior management
  • Collation of all project documentation relating to the assigned certifier/design certifier’s inspection plans and the Building Control Amendment Regulations 2014
  • Reviewing inspection reports and directing the appropriate course of action as necessary
  • Liaising with the Assigned Certifier and Resident Engineers on NCRs raised and review of close observations with them.
  • Ensuring the closing out of all items is properly substantiated by means of photographs and reports etc and to the satisfaction of all Certifiers
  • Monitoring and reviewing subcontractor progress and performance and providing feedback to site manager and contracts team
  • Liaise with Management to assist in the preparation of Progress Reports
  • Ensuring co-ordination & provision of all test certificates and confirmations to the satisfaction of all Certifiers
  • Co-ordination of commencement notices
  • Co-ordination of inspection plans and tracking of same during the course of the project
  • Compilation of required product certification from contractors
  • Undertaking timely site inspections with documented reporting on same
  • Tracking of open compliance issues on projects to ensure satisfactory closure
  • Coordination and liaison with all parties involved in a construction project
  • Report weekly and monthly data and information to site teams, key stakeholders and partners
  • Maintain a professional image for the company in all dealings with public and stakeholders
  • Other ad hoc duties that the Company may require from time to time
