What will this role achieve?
Reporting into the Business Account Manager, the Business Development Manager will be responsible for the delivery and growth plans for our Waitrose & Booths accounts. This is an exciting opportunity to work within a fast-paced yet rewarding team servicing our premium clients.
Working Pattern: Chiswick Park -> Fully Remote. Employees are not expected in the office on any specific days, but Chiswick is their contractual place of work, and they’re required to self-travel into the office for meetings whenever vital, but that there are no set days of each week that they’re encouraged to be in by default.

What will be your key deliverables?

  • The Business Development Manager will have full ownership of the P&L and commercial relationships in Booths worth c.£1m Net Sales per annum
  • Confer and agree the Booths annual JBP with monthly tracking and communication internally and with the customer ensuring there is a recovery plan if supervising off plan.
  • Working cross functionally with NRM, Shopper Marketing and Demand Planners to achieve budget on Booths
  • Ensuring all customer promotional plan and administration is completed on time and in full.
  • Own the sales forecast and ensure the forecast accuracy is met to business targets.
  • Support the Waitrose account manager in maintaining an up-to-date promotional plan and inputting this into the Sales Planner system.
  • Proactive management of Waitrose’s Shipper process including item design / creation, pladis Supply Chain liaison and weekly contact with DS Smith.
  • Waitrose Portal – Ownership of submitting all promotions and shippers onto the Waitrose portal & setting up new listings.
  • Support the Waitrose Account Manager in monthly internal forecast review meetings.
  • Promotional evaluations, attending forecast review meetings & ownership of inputting weekly alignments

Essential

  • Experience in a customer facing role within FMCG.
  • Working autonomously and as part of a team towards business set targets
  • Strong problem solving and solution orientated.
  • Logical mind and eye strong for detail
  • Good financial and commercial ability

Desirable

  • Experience in customer facing roles.
  • Field sales experience
  • Branded experience (as opposed to Retailer Brand)
  • Excellent Excel, PowerPoint & presentation skills
