QUALIFICATIONS:

Required:

• High School Diploma required

Preferred:

• Excellent communication skills
• Previous hospital experience in an acute care facility preferred
• Experience with bed placement processes and systems preferred
• Exceptional organizational skills
• Medical terminology knowledge and computer skills

SCHEDULING REQUIREMENTS:

• Per Diem Night

• The Bed Board Controller is expected to complete all admissions, transfers, discharges and other service level changes in a timely manner and work closely with clinical staff to obtain correct and timely orders and ensure accuracy of patient s level of care
• The Bed Board Controller is also responsible for verifying and reconciling the hospital census and distribution of the census to the appropriate clinical and operational staff.
• The coordinator works in conjunction with the clinical leadership in the facilitation of continuous patient throughput from all points of entry and internal transfer
• The Bed Board Controller performs all job duties in a professional and courteous manner and demonstrates positive and appropriate skills with internal and external customers
• The Bed Board Controller must possess the ability to work with others and maintains a safe environment for patients, staff physicians and visitors
