About the Position:
The Behaviour Interventionist (BI) is a teacher who creates a safe and supportive learning environment for persons served and their guardians. The BI will provide direct teaching to neurodivergent learners using a combination of different teaching strategies selected through person-centred planning.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- The BI must be comfortable working independently in a variety of settings (e.g., in their home, preschool, out-of-school care program, library or out in the community). Travel within the western communities is a part of this role.
- The BI will carefully implement programming that has been created by a multidisciplinary team (e.g., Behaviour Analyst, Occupational Therapist, Physiotherapist, Speech & Language Pathologist).
Experience/Education:
- Post-secondary education in a related field (Psychology, ECE, Child and Youth Care, Social Services, Special Education Assistant).
- Experience working with children or youth.
- Basic computer skills and access to a computer.
- Background in ABA or tutoring services (beneficial but not required).
Requirements:
- Must be 19 years or older.
- Valid BC Drivers Licence and vehicle.
- Clear criminal record check with the vulnerable sector (provided).
- First aid & CPR (provided).
- Trauma-informed training (provided).
Compensation:
- $21-23 per hour.
- First Aid.
- Criminal Record Check.
- Five paid sick days.
- Training.
- Partial coverage of travel costs.
We are seeking candidates who are looking for 5 - 10 hours per week.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $21.00-$23.00 per hour
