Together, we provide support for over 900 people who have a developmental disability, and who live, work and play in Guelph and Wellington County.
We are hiring for a full-time Behavioural Therapist Assistant (35 hours a week) who reports to the Behaviour Therapist (BCBA). As a Behavioural Therapist Assistant, you would work in conjunction with the Behaviour Therapist to conduct behaviour assessments, develop behaviour interventions, and evaluates the effectiveness of therapeutic interventions for the positive skill development of the people we support.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES (IN CONJUNCTION WITH THE BEHAVIOUR THERAPIST)

  • Conducts functional assessments, including analysis and interpretation of results
  • Designs and develops service plans and Behaviour Support Plans according to demonstrated best practices of applied behaviour analysis
  • Develops monitoring and data recording systems
  • Reviews and analyzes data based on objective evidence in the development of programs
  • Ensures that all clinical documentation reports, and files are stored and handled securely and appropriately
  • Ensures compliance with all legislation and regulations applying to the job
  • Acts as a liaison with other professionals (Psychiatrist, Speech Language Pathologists, Occupational Therapists, etc.) to best meet the needs of the people we support
  • Provides a range of evidence-based ABA training and educational resources to families and staffing teams, that include workshops, written materials and coaching
  • Participates in meetings and collaborates with community partners as needed
  • Provides clinical input, advice and direction regarding behaviour intervention including development and implementation of Behaviour Support Plans
  • Act as a resource and liaison with other people outside and within the agency including: contracted service providers, funders, managers, supervisors, and frontline staff

Educational/Technical Competencies

  • Behaviour science diploma and/or currently pursuing a masters in ABA.
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities, and/or dual diagnosis
  • Familiarity with Quality Assurance Measures (QAM) an asset
  • Exceptional communication skills both written and verbal
  • Demonstrated proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite of products, Internet and e-mail
  • Strong organizational skills and procedural knowledge with good documentation skills
  • Must have access to a reliable vehicle, up to date insurance and a valid driving license
  • Flexible working hours required
