Position Type: In-Home/Community-Based (This is not a remote position.)

We are currently seeking passionate Behavioural Therapists to join our Autism program team, delivering in-home and community-based services across Ottawa and surrounding areas. This role is ideal for candidates ready to make a tangible difference in the lives of children on the autism spectrum through direct, hands-on experience.
Duties and Responsibilities:

- Provide 1:1 behavioural intervention in home and community settings to children with developmental disabilities, focusing on increasing their skills as per individualized treatment plans.
- Provide family support and discuss treatment plans with families
- Prepare visuals and plans
- Communication training
- Work in the family home
- Maintain high ethical standards and confidentiality in all interactions.
- Engage with children during sessions using dynamic and interactive methods to encourage skill development and participation.
- Participate in multidisciplinary teams alongside speech-language pathologists, psychologists, and other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care.
- Ensure preparedness by organizing teaching materials for sessions and assessments.
- Provide regular updates to parents and caregivers on child progress and program adjustments.
- Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance skills and maintain accreditation.
- Manage basic hygiene needs of clients, such as assisting with toileting and changing clothes when necessary.

- Maintain accurate and detailed session notes and data records for ongoing evaluation and reporting.
Qualifications and Skills:

- Degree or Diploma in Psychology, Social Work, Behavioural Science, Education, Child and Youth work, or a related field (required).
- Additional certification in Behavioural Science Technology, Autism Behavioural Science, or as a Registered Behavioural Technician (preferred).
- Minimum of 6 months to 1 year of experience applying ABA techniques in a professional setting (preferred).
- Proven ability to engage actively with children, demonstrating energy, creativity, and a positive, encouraging attitude.
- Must possess a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation as this role requires travel to client homes and community settings across the designated coverage areas.
- Valid vulnerable sector check and current CPR training.
- Physical ability to engage with children, including sitting on the floor, lifting at least 30 Lbs, and managing active play and interaction.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively coordinate with families and multidisciplinary team members.
- Strong interpersonal skills, patient demeanour, and a commitment to providing compassionate care tailored to individual client needs.
