What the day job looks like:
In this full-time role as a Supply Base Manager, you will be responsible for:
- Support third-party and customer audits by presenting supply base information and maintaining accurate supplier records.
- Build and maintain the supplier management system, including onboarding suppliers, managing audits, and driving the approval process for raw materials, packaging, and service providers.
- Conduct risk assessments and implement mitigating measures to address identified risks.
- Ensure supply chain compliance with customer codes of practice, accreditation standards, and VACCP requirements, holding regular review meetings.
- Oversee supplier KPIs, generating monthly technical updates and reports for senior leadership and customers.
- Conduct supplier visits and audits, ensuring specifications are up to date and aligned with business needs.
- Collaborate with procurement, sustainability, and NPD teams on cross-functional projects and improvement plans for underperforming suppliers.
- Attend NPD meetings, ensuring all new materials and packaging meet approval standards and technical alignment with stage-gate processes.
- Respond to supply base issues, provide customer presentation input, and maintain supply chain mapping and process controls.
- Manage and mentor direct reports, working across departments to achieve shared objectives.
TERMS
- 40 hrs/wk eg; 8am-4.30pm Mon-Fri (flexibility with regard to start time)
- Probationary period 3 months
- Annual salary review (our ‘movers and shakers’ are always rewarded)
- 10% discretionary KPI related bonus based around challenging but achievable tasks related to the role

- You have strong technical experience in food manufacturing, with knowledge of major British retailers’ requirements.
- You’re skilled in HACCP, TACCP, and VACCP processes with formal training in these areas.
- You possess strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- You thrive in cross-functional roles, balancing attention to detail with big-picture thinking.
- You enjoy mentoring and leading teams to deliver exceptional results.
