QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS

  • Must be available to work daytime, evening, overnight, weekdays, weekends and holidays
  • Valid Driver’s License with clean driver’s abstract required
  • 1 year of experience in a hotel or a related customer service field preferred
  • High School diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Comfortable working with computer, copier, scanner, telephone, two way radio, guest luggage, bell carts, property vehicle
  • Medium work - Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 20 pounds of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects
  • Ability to work long hours and some back to back shifts, as needed
  • Ability to work under variable temperatures and noise levels
  • Near Vision – ability to see details at close range
  • Ability to bend, stretch, twist or reach with your body and arms
  • Must be able to stand and/or walk for lengthy periods of time
  • Must have good oral and written comprehension and be able to convey information and ideas clearly in English
  • Multi-lingual skills an asset
  • Must be effective in handling problems in the workplace, including anticipating, preventing, identifying, and solving problems as necessary
  • Must work well in stressful, high pressure situations and maintain composure and objectivity under pressure
  • Must be effective at listening to, understanding, and clarifying the concerns and issues raised by co-workers and guests

Responsibilities:

DUTIES & FUNCTIONS

  • Open doors and welcome guests
  • Approach all encounters with guests and employees in a friendly, service-oriented manner
  • Maintain regular attendance as required by scheduling that will vary according to the needs of the hotel
  • Maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming, which include wearing the proper uniform and nametag when working
  • Comply at all times with hotel standards and regulations to encourage safe and efficient operations
  • Transfer luggage and packages to and from rooms, loading areas, vehicles, or transportation terminals, by hand or using baggage carts
  • Supply guests with directions, travel information, and other information such as available services and points of interest
  • Receive and mark baggage by completing and attaching claim checks
  • Greet incoming guests and escort them to their rooms
  • Assist physically challenged travelers and other guests with special needs
  • Deliver messages and room service orders
  • Run errands for guests
  • Explain the operation of room features such as locks, ventilation systems, and televisions
  • Arrange for shipments of baggage, express mail, and parcels by providing weighing and billing services
  • Maintain clean lobby and entrance areas for travelers and guests
  • Transport guests about premises and local areas, or arrange for transportation
  • Compute and complete charge slips for services rendered and maintain records
  • Pick up and return items for laundry and valet service
  • Assist at Front Desk operations as directed by manager/supervisor
  • Ensure guest safety
  • Follow all department standard operating procedures

  • Be the Smile that Greets the Guest - offer a warm welcome. Say hello, good morning, good evening. Open a car door. Assist with luggage. And then park each guest’s car with care and precision, delivering it back to them as they gave it to you. Take great care and great pride in what you do.
  • Be a Source of Information - respond to guests’ inquiries about directions, happenings, local restaurants, hotel info with a helpful attitude and a smile.
  • Be a Safety & Security Agent - follow your hotel’s established safety and security policies & procedures. Anticipate problems and call management as needed. Be sure when you park the guests’ car you double-check lock and windows and handle all keys as per policy. Assist the guests with any issues that might have arisen during their parking experience
