JOB SUMMARY:
We are seeking a knowledgeable and experienced Benefits and Leave Coordinator to join our HR team. This role is crucial in supporting our employees with leave of absence needs, benefits enrollment, and overall benefits administration. The ideal candidate will be adept at communicating with employees one-on-one or in group settings, ensuring they understand their benefits and leave options, and ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations, including the Affordable Care Act (ACA), Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA), and the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). This position requires excellent communication skills, exceptional attention to detail, and a passion for creating a welcoming and inclusive work environment.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
- 1-3 years of experience in HR, with a focus on benefits administration and leave management.
- Experience administering employee benefits plans, ACA guidelines, FMLA, and ADA requirements.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency with HRIS and benefits management software.

Responsibilities:
Benefits Enrollment and Administration:
- Assist employees with benefits enrollment, providing detailed information about available plans and assisting with decision-making.
- Conduct benefits orientation sessions for new hires and annual open enrollment meetings.
- Administer and maintain vendor platforms for all employee benefits, ensuring data accuracy and timely updates.
- Respond to employee inquiries regarding benefits and resolve any issues or concerns.
- Review and audit invoices from benefit administrators to ensure accuracy and compliance with contractual agreements.
- Reconcile discrepancies between billed amounts and actual coverage.
Leave of Absence Coordination:
- Guide employees through the leave process, ensuring they understand their rights and obligations.
- Manage required communications and documentation in alignment with FMLA and ADA regulations.
- Coordinate with supervisors and management to ensure smooth transitions and coverage during employee absences.
Worker’s Compensation Administration:
- Manage and process worker’s compensation claims, ensuring accurate documentation and timely submission.
- Serve as the primary point of contact between employees, insurance carriers, and medical providers to facilitate claim resolutions.
- Monitor claim progress, coordinate return-to-work programs, and ensure compliance with all legal and regulatory requirements.
Communication and Training:
- Communicate effectively with employees at all levels of the organization, providing clear and concise information.
- Collaborate with managers and employees to improve understanding of benefits and leave policies.
- Develop and deliver training materials and presentations related to benefits and leave policies.
Compliance:
- Maintain employee medical files.
- Stay up-to-date with employment laws and regulations to ensure compliance in all benefit-related HR processes.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
