The Benefits Manager position exists to provide plan administration of a benefits package that meets the health, welfare, and long-term security needs of employees within a framework of affordability and stewardship of resources. This position also conducts analysis of benefit-related data, prepares and assists in management presentations and maintains a benefit structure that is externally competitive and internally fair to attract and retain competent employees.

KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE:

Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resource Management, Business or equivalent experience
5-7 years of experience in Human Resources Management
5-7 years of experience in Benefits Administration, including experience with self-insured plans
Working knowledge of FOF mission, philosophy, values, and objectives
Working knowledge of 403(b) retirement plan

Salary Range: $76,956 to $88,398/yr

Responsibilities:

ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

Provides benefit administration of employee benefits programs including medical, prescription drug, dental and vision coverage, life insurance, disability insurance, Flexible Spending Accounts, COBRA, HIPAA, and other employee supplemental benefit programs
Manages the annual Open Enrollment process and employee on-site Benefits Fair
Analyzes, researches, and recommends changes to benefit plan designs, policies, and practices; is a key player in the annual benefits renewal process, working closely with the benefits broker
Reviews and recommends changes to plan documentation for benefits programs
Oversees the coordination, preparation and dissemination of employee benefits related communications packages including benefits orientation and open enrollment
Responds to employee inquiries on benefit plans regarding eligibility of coverage and claims processing; resolves complex issues
Oversees periodic audits of HRIS and benefit-related deductions and the preparation of reports of benefit plans and employee data
Prepares management presentations
Oversees the maintenance of insurance files, beneficiary records and the keying of employee benefits information into HRIS
Oversees the reporting of all benefit-related information to vendors and the verification of vendor statements, i.e., number of employees, coverage of insurance, cost, etc.
Oversees the processing of enrollments, changes, and cancellations of coverage for health benefit plans
Evaluates service levels and coverage options of vendors
May assist in tracking and processing Leave of Absence (LOA) health coverage premium payments
Through research and study, stays abreast of new developments within the field and of legislation which impacts employee benefits
Coordinates/conducts benefits-related classes for new employee orientation and management orientation including disseminating information on retirement plans
Develops and coordinates the maintenance of benefits measures/reports

OTHER DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

Interfaces with organizations offering products/services to FOF employees
Performs other duties as assigned
