QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business Administration or related field
- 5+ years of experience in benefits administration and managing & negotiating with benefits vendors and brokers
- Professional Certification such as CEBS, PHR or SHRM-CP
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and make informed recommendations.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with a focus on employee education.
- Proficiency in HRIS systems and benefits administration software
Responsibilities:
- Plan, Develop, and Administer Employee Benefits Programs:
- Manage health, dental, vision, life, and disability insurance plans.
- Oversee retirement plans, including 401(k) administration.
- Administer wellness programs, employee assistance programs (EAP), and other perks.
- Compliance:
- Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations related to employee benefits, including ERISA, ACA, FMLA, COBRA, and HIPAA.
- Maintain plan documents, Summary Plan Descriptions (SPD), and compliance reports.
- Coordinate with legal and compliance teams to ensure adherence to applicable laws.
- Vendor Management:
- Manage relationships with benefits providers, brokers, and consultants.
- Negotiate contracts, premiums, and services with benefits vendors.
- Evaluate vendor performance and recommend changes when necessary.
- Employee Support:
- Serve as a primary contact for employees regarding benefit inquiries.
- Conduct benefits orientations, training sessions, and open enrollment meetings.
- Assist employees with claims, appeals, and benefits-related issues.
- Data Analysis and Reporting:
- Analyze benefits data to identify trends and opportunities for cost savings.
- Prepare and present reports on benefits costs, enrollment statistics, and employee feedback.
- Recommend enhancements to benefits offerings based on data analysis and employee needs.
- Policy Development:
- Develop, update, and implement benefits policies and procedures.
- Ensure benefits communications are clear, concise, and accessible to all employees.
- Collaborate with HR leadership on developing strategies to attract and retain talent through competitive benefits.
