The Benefits team is an important subset of the HR team and is responsible for creating and delivering best in class, innovative benefits, and experiences for a rapidly growing employee population, both in and out of the US.

WE’LL LOOK FOR THESE QUALITIES, EXPERIENCE, AND SKILLS:

  • Exceptional customer-service: Answer employee questions with thoughtfulness and accuracy. Ability to seek answers they may not know.
  • Problem-Solving: Ability to troubleshoot and resolve employee issues as it relates to data and understand the root problems vs individual patch fixes.
  • Data Fluency: Strong ability to analyze and read data in Google and/or Excel spreadsheets.
  • Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills to interact effectively with employees, HR stakeholders, IT, Finance, and vendors.
  • Benefits experience: Previous experience operating and / or managing US Benefits.
  • Automation and streamlining: Finding ways to scale processes and ensure high data integrity as a company grows.

Responsibilities:

ABOUT THE ROLE

OpenAI seeks to hire a Benefits Operations Specialist to oversee the execution and continuous improvement of our global Benefits processes and own some of our high touch programs. This role will help OpenAI achieve its mission by improving the people’s experience and operational rigor and excellence throughout our Benefits processes. We’re looking for someone who excels in employee experience, data management and is an astute problem solver.

YOU’LL HAVE SEVERAL AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITIES, INCLUDING:

  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of benefits programs such as health insurance, retirement plans, leaves administration, accommodations, and other employee benefits.
  • This includes processing enrollments, changes, and terminations for all benefit plans, maintaining accurate records and documentation.
  • Serve as a point of contact for employees with questions or issues related to their benefits. Examples might involve explaining enrollment processes, connecting employees to the right vendor, and resolving any discrepancies.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations regarding benefits administration.
  • Collaborate with HR, Payroll, Legal and third-party vendors to ensure smooth operation of benefits programs.
  • Monitor data integrity and implement proactive audits to detect and correct errors in our systems and processes
