We are recruiting to fill the position below:

JOB DESCRIPTION

  • Benel Energy Resources Limited is seeking a diligent and detail-oriented Graduate Finance Associate to join our finance team.
  • This is an entry-level position suitable for a recent graduate who is eager to develop their accounting skills in a fast-paced, dynamic environment within the oil and gas sector.
  • The successful candidate will assist in maintaining financial records, preparing financial reports, and ensuring accurate and timely processing of financial transactions.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Minimum 0-2 years of experience as a Finance associate or Accountant
  • Professional certifications (e.g., ICAN, ACCA) or ongoing certification processes will be an added advantage.
  • Strong numerical and analytical skills.
  • Basic understanding of financial and accounting principles.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software (knowledge of SAP or QuickBooks is a plus).
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities:

  • Support the finance team in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
  • Maintain and update accounting records, including but not limited to accounts payable, receivables, and general ledger entries.
  • Perform daily, weekly, and monthly reconciliations of bank statements to ensure accuracy of financial data.
  • Assist in the review and reconciliation of expenses and ensure proper documentation and adherence to company policies.
  • Assist with tax filing processes, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations.
  • Support the preparation of departmental budgets and forecasts, and assist in tracking expenses against budget allocations.
  • Assist in internal and external audits, preparing documentation as required by auditors.
  • Input and maintain financial data in accounting software to ensure up-to-date and accurate records.
  • Prepare invoices for clients and track payments, ensuring timely collection of receivables.
  • Provide general administrative support to the finance department as needed
