Bengalla is an open cut mine located in Muswellbrook in the Hunter Valley, NSW. It offers a residential lifestyle and has development consent to operate through to 2039.
Responsibilities:
ABOUT THE ROLE
This role is responsible for the safe and efficient execution of the mine plan through six-month rotations between the OCE and Production Supervisor functions. In both functions you will directly influence compliance to Bengalla’s safety management system through supervision and leadership of permanent and contract workforce.
In this role, you will also:
- Drive the execution of the daily, weekly, and annual operating plans
- Effectively manage incidents and respond to emergencies
- Verify statutory compliance
- Make production decisions that achieve safety, productivity, and plan compliance
- Drive crew ownership of safety
- Continually identify and implement improvement ideas to enhance process design
To be successful in this role, you must have:
- Must have a current practicing certificate, maintained such that it will be eligible for renewal
- Strong interpersonal skills supported by proven leadership and team membership skills
- Ability to respectfully challenge the status quo and drive performance
- Proven experience in safety leadership and incident reduction
- Relevant legislative knowledge
- High-level judgement, decision-making and problem-solving capability, as well as a professional level of written and oral communication skills
- Strong planning and organising skills
- Professional manner and a ‘can do’ attitud
