Job Description
We currently have an exciting opportunity for a passionate Coffee and Tea Beverage Master based in Auckland. As the Beverage Master for New Zealand you will be responsible for the sourcing of raw materials to ensure blend delivery against specification while meeting quality and financial requirements. This role is a key contributor for identifying and driving cost optimisation with regards to coffee and tea ingredients and products, manufacturing and process.
In addition, you will:
- Champion quality through skilled and objective sensory evaluation of JDE’s products
- Oversees flexible blending and local development of coffee & tea blends, recipes, and protocols in line with JDE R&D protocols
- Ensure the availability of green coffee & tea, at the right quality, to meet product specifications and financial objectives.
- Supports the commercialization of New Product Development & Operational processes within the Auckland manufacturing unit.
- To be a conduit for the sharing of coffee knowledge to the business, including training of associates as required
Qualifications
We’re looking for someone who has the following skills and experience:
- Coffee roasting experience and blend development capability
- Experience in tea blend development highly desirable
- Experience in sensory evaluation
- Broad technical knowledge of food manufacturing and technologies
- Proven track record of Commodity procurement within a budget.
- A minimum of 5 years’ experience within the tea or coffee industry across multiple areas.
