Pay Rate/Range: The budgeted salary range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position:
Hiring range for BUS SYS ANL 2 (gr 21) = $33.29-$39.76/hr.
Hiring range for BUS SYS ANL 3 (gr 22) = $77,000-$92,550/yr.
Salary offers are determined based on final candidate qualifications and experience; the budget for the position; and the application of fair, equitable, and consistent pay practices at the University. The full salary range for this position is:
BUS SYS ANL 2 (gr 21) = $33.29 - $59.15/hour
BUS SYS ANL 3 (gr 22) = $77,000 - $139,200/year

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

BFS Production Analyst/BSA level 2 (experienced):

  • Bachelor’s degree in related area and / or equivalent experience / training
  • 1-3 years Experience analyzing moderately complex business processes and problems, developing solutions through computer systems and information flow, creating specifications for systems to meet requirements, validating needs, designing automated systems, planning and executing unit integration and acceptance testing, and developing user reference materials and trainings. Required and
  • 1-3 years Experience facing complex problems and utilizing problem-solving abilities in working with system users and technical staff to resolve issues and prioritize end-user needs. Required and
  • 1-3 years Experience communicating technology needs to both technical and non-technical audiences. Required and
  • Demonstrated ability to work with others from diverse backgrounds.

BFS Production Analyst level 2:

  • 25% Formulation and Definition of System Scope and Objectives - Analyze business processes and problems to understand and validate functional business requirements to meet end-user needs. Gather, analyze, and document functional business requirements.
  • 25% System and Procedure Development and Testing - Identify, evaluate, and develop moderately complex systems and procedures. Execute unit integration and acceptance testing based on the developed plan. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address and resolve business process or system issues.
  • 25% Project Support, Documentation and Reporting - Assist with the development of project plans and the creation of end-user documentation. Gather and analyze data to prepare business processes and procedural documentation. Assist with the implementation of changes in system development, maintenance, standards, and the creation of specifications. Aid in writing reports and data analysis as required by functional users and business stakeholders.
  • 15% Application and Data Support - Support the development and ongoing maintenance of data flows. Provide support for new applications by helping end users and ensuring they are aligned with functional requirements.

BFS Business Systems Analyst level 3:

  • 50% Business System Analysis and Process Improvement - Applies technical expertise and business analysis concepts to identify, evaluate, and define complex systems scope and objectives. Collaborates with stakeholders to create detailed process specifications and ensures alignment with the system needs, security requirements, and management goals. Utilizes understanding of applicable business practices, processes, and industry standards to documents complex business systems and processes, develop functional and technical specifications, and prepare plans for system implementation. Presents recommendations to decision makers for approval. Leads cross-functional teams through the system implementation process, ensuring effective coordination and communication across departments to ensure system solutions meet business needs, compliance requirements, and security standards.
  • 40% User Provisioning & Access Management - Responsible for user provisioning processes for the campus financial ERP system. Ensures proper access controls are in place, assigning appropriate permissions and roles to users while maintaining system security. Monitors user accounts and performs periodic reviews to ensure compliance with access policies and procedures and proper access and permissions.
  • 10% Training and Support - Provides ongoing support and training on new applications, guiding users in best practices, security protocols, and access management. Gathers and revises business and user needs documentation, updating system and process logic as necessary to reflect current security measures. Supports less-experienced Business Systems Analysts by providing guidance and advice on technical, procedural, and security-related challenges.

Responsibilities:

Under the direction of the Business Systems Analyst Manager, the BFS Production Systems Analyst 2 (or 3) supports Business and Financial Services (BFS) by analyzing business systems, identifying process improvements, and solving problems through comprehensive system analysis.
The BFS Production Systems Analyst 2 is responsible for supporting the maintenance and enhancement of UCSB’s production systems, including but not limited to SAP Concur, Oracle ERP Cloud, Oracle Electronic Data Management Cloud, and Oracle Fusion Data Intelligence. Formulates and defines the scope and objectives for moderately complex business processes and systems. This role involves documenting business processes, developing specifications, writing functional design documents, testing system changes, and ensuring continuous business operations.
Additionally, this position will assist with the development of reports and tools for internal and external stakeholders and offering backup support to other Business Systems Analysts as needed.

Additionally, this role is responsible for user provisioning for the financial ERP system, ensuring proper access and permissions are maintained for users).
