JOB OVERVIEW
We are seeking a proactive and meticulous Bilingual Legal Assistant specializing in personal injury law to join our team. You will enhance our client intake operations for a prestigious U.S. law firm. This role allows you to significantly contribute to our success while enjoying career growth and flexibility. We seek a detail-oriented and highly skilled individual proficient in both Spanish and English, ideally with a certification or proven experience at the C1 level.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree or paralegal certificate is preferred.
- Relevant experience as a legal assistant or paralegal, preferably in personal injury law.
- Proficiency in legal research tools (e.g., Westlaw, LexisNexis), document management software, Microsoft Office Suite, and case management software (e.g., Clio, Filevine).
- Familiarity with electronic filing systems and legal terminology.
- Strong attention to detail, excellent time management, and organizational skills.
- Strong interpersonal, problem-solving, and communication skills with a commitment to client confidentiality and professionalism.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, managing multiple cases and prioritizing tasks effectively.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct client intake interviews by calling clients, collecting all necessary personal and case-related information, and requesting any required documents.
- Ensure all relevant information and documents are collected promptly and accurately for assigned cases. Follow up with clients as needed to gather any missing information.
- Serve as a primary point of contact for clients, addressing their questions and concerns, and keeping them informed about case progress.
- Collect and review pertinent evidence related to personal injury cases, including medical records, accident reports, photographs, video footage, and witness statements.
- Conduct legal research to support the discovery process, reviewing relevant case law, statutes, and regulations.
- Assist in preparing legal documents, including pleadings, motions, discovery requests, and correspondence, ensuring they meet legal standards.
