As a Senior Consultant, Practice Excellence & Innovation: You will be responsible for leading and managing the effective execution of innovative practice initiatives, supporting our vision to be recognized as the best disability management provider for clients in Canada. You will enable change, while engaging and supporting our business partners in achieving operational excellence and Client objectives. You will own the planning and execution of best practices and initiatives that are aligned with the strategic direction of Group Disability. Collaboration with both internal and external stakeholders is key, as you will be responsible for developing evidence-based, leading-edge practices that will contribute to strong financial outcomes.

What will you do?

  • Act as subject matter expert in disability management practice excellence, working on large, complex, and cross functional strategic initiatives
  • Collaborate with internal and external partners to enhance the knowledge within our disability operations
  • Develop and execute practices and procedures that support continuous improvement aligned with our objectives
  • Develop and champion opportunities for innovation, creating solutions to address client’s most pressing needs and support sustainable recoveries
  • Collaborate with business partners and leverage the Sun Life ecosystem in exploring disability practice issues and creating client-centric solutions
  • Contribute to thought-leadership, research, analysis, and development of key deliverables including marketing materials and health solutions

What you need to succeed:

  • Bilingualism (French, English, both oral and written) is required for the frequent interactions with English and French-speaking colleagues or internal partners across Canada and worldwide.
  • College or university degree in related field
  • Deep disability management expertise with at least 5 years experience working in the disability space, preferably in the financial services industry
  • Understand and stay abreast of emerging trends in disability management and health solutions, and how they can transform our business
  • Excellent communicator and comfortable presenting to a wide array of audiences, including senior leaders
  • Demonstrated experience collaborating with stakeholders in large cross-functional initiatives
  • Thrives in a dynamic, fast paced environment, managing time effectively and efficiently

PREFERRED SKILLS:

  • Lean experience and Project management skills/aptitude would be an asset
  • Strong and effective relationship builder with the ability to influence across boundaries
  • Continuous improvement mindset and ability to drive decisions using data
  • Ability to manage and prioritize a number of initiatives and deliverables concurrently
  • Strong business application skills and experience, (Excel, PowerPoint, Sharepoint)
  • Change leader and ability to perform in an environment with a high level of complexity, interdependency, and change
  • Strong process and critical thinking skills, with ability to identify opportunities for new health and digital innovations
