Billing & Collections Officer – Patient Accounts
Malvern location

The Patient Accounts department plays a vital role in driving the financial health of the organisation through efficient billing, receipting and debt recovery functions. We are a dedicated team of twenty-two professionals, committed to processing a high volume of transactions that positively influence our cash flow and help us maintain the high standard of care we provide.

Health Fund Collections Officer
Permanent Part Time (22.5 hours per week)
As a Health Fund Collections Officer your day will include: reviewing aged trial balances to action debts outstanding beyond agreed health fund contractual timeframes, contacting the health fund to follow up payments, resolving rejections related to claims, coordinating correspondence between the hospital and the health funds. To be successful in this role you will need to have experience in the following: employment in a medical environment or health insurance industry, exposure to billing, or debt follow up, accounts receivable function in a hospital environment (preferable), reconciliation of accounts via Eclipse and manual claims.
Billing and Collections Officer – Private Practice
Permanent Part Time (30 hours per week)
As a Billing and Collections Officer (Private Practice) your day will include: billing and claiming for a variety of services, debt follow up / collections, management of claim rejections, liaising efficiently with internal and external stakeholder queries. To be successful in this role you will need to have the following: relevant medical billing and debt collection experience, exposure to medical billing with Medicare, DVA and Private Health Funds and accounts receivable experience in a healthcare setting.
Billing and Collections Officer – Inpatients
Permanent Full Time (38 hours per week)
As a Billing and Collections Officer (Inpatients) your day will include: invoice processing, billing and claiming for a variety of services, following up outstanding debt, management of claim rejections, reporting of aged debts and reporting doubtful debts, liaising with Private Health Funds and third-party providers. To be successful in this role, you will need to have: previous experience in health fund billing, invoicing, and reporting within a healthcare setting (preferably inpatient services), relevant debt collection experience and accounts receivable experience in a healthcare setting, as well as Pracsoft system (preferable).
