With a strong reputation for excellence, Chambers’ Members handle complex cases that address important legal, ethical, and social issues. Chambers is now seeking to recruit a newly created position of Billing Clerk to join the finance team dealing with the billing of Barristers’ professional fees.
PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS
- 8+ years in a similar role (preferably in another leading Chambers)
- Strong communication and negotiation skills
- The ability to handle challenging conversations with tact and professionalism
- Detail-oriented with the ability to think strategically and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- A commitment to promoting fairness, equality, and diversity within Chambers
- High levels of professionalism, confidentiality, and discretion
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for Chambers Time Recording system and prompt transfer of times to cases.
- Chasing, where necessary relevant persons for billing information.
- Process invoices and fee notes across all practice areas and funding streams at appropriate times.
- To ensure prompt payment of Chambers invoices and fee notes check bills are correctly addressed and meet the client’s requirements i.e. PO numbers, references etc
- Deal with all queries regarding time recording and billing (invoices and fee notes).
- Prompt follow-up of billing queries and requests.
- Oversee submission of bills/payments.
