Description:

The Billing Specialist will be responsible for making sure devices are shipped and billed in an accurate and timely manner for the patient. This role will work with insurances to advocate on behalf of patients to ensure they are getting the care they need.

MINIMUM JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Genuine interest in helping people.
  • Ability to perform with high degree of independent judgment, discretion, and confidentiality; and make complex decisions within short amount of time.
  • Exceptional communication (written & verbal) skills AND Excellent organizational skills.
  • Superior phone communication skills with providers, carriers, patients, and trainees.
  • Strong attention to detail and good typing skills.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required; College degree beneficial.

PHYSICAL & ENVIRONMENTAL REQUIREMENTS:

Computer Intensive Tasks (95% of shift):

  • Ergonomics: Maintain proper posture using an ergonomic chair.
  • Headset Usage: Regularly wear a headset for extended periods in a call center environment.
  • Communication: Effectively communicate via spoken, written, virtual, and electronic means.
  • Strenuous Eye Activities: Ability to focus and concentrate on detailed tasks for extended periods to reduce eye strain.
  • Repetitive Strain: Perform frequent keyboard and mouse activities with dexterity and careful hand movements to minimize the risk of strain.
  • Sitting for Extended Periods: Sit for prolonged periods while working on a computer.
  • Technology Proficiency: Utilize office equipment, including computers, copiers, fax machines, and telephones, as well as demonstrate proficiency in Microsoft Office Software.
  • Dynamic Office Environment: Operate in a fast-paced, professional office setting.

Physical Tasks (5% of shift):

  • Heavy Lifting: Lift objects weighing up to 10 lbs.

Responsibilities:

MAIN DAILY DUTIES:

Administrative Tasks: (60% of shift)

  • Submit clean and accurate claims to insurance companies for payment of all Zynex goods and services.
  • Be responsible for maintaining accurate records and providing detailed, professional notes in patient files.
  • Operate independently in Zynex’s access database/billing system to complete patient orders with a high degree of accuracy.

Phone Tasks: (40% of shift)

  • Obtain billing authorizations for the use of Durable Medical Equipment (DME) from Insurance companies (e.g., Adjustors/Nurse Case Managers, TPAs (Third Party Administrators), Insurance Representatives).
  • Provide requested information to Insurance carriers to include billing/coding support concerning devices, accessories, and supplies for recipients, insurance providers, physicians, and the payer community.

Additional Duties:

  • Meet daily goals as outlined by Billing Department Manager/Manager.
  • Dress and interact professionally in an office environment.
  • Follow all company policies and address issues following appropriate chain of command.
  • Be present/visible in the home office 5 days/week (M-F), 8 hours/day. Exceptions to this need prior approval from your direct Manager.
  • Complete other duties, as assigned by Management.

FUTURE RESPONSIBILITIES:

As part of the natural growth in this role, the position will evolve to include training responsibilities. This will involve:

  • Conducting training sessions for new team members.
  • Developing and implementing training materials and programs.
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure consistent training standards.
  • Identifying improvement opportunities by analyzing common inefficiencies and discrepancies in work processes.
  • Conducting Quality Assurance (QA) review utilizing departmental Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
