KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Deliver engaging and effective instruction aligned with the GCSE, A-Level, or IBDP Biology curricula, inspiring student confidence and fostering academic growth.
  • Plan and execute dynamic lessons that cater to individual learning needs, incorporating modern teaching strategies and technology to enhance the learning experience.
  • Monitor student progress through effective use of formative and summative assessments, ensuring students meet challenging academic targets.
  • Provide pastoral support, promoting student well-being and addressing individual needs in collaboration with the school’s well-being team.
  • Encourage student involvement in extra-curricular biology-related activities, trips, and learning opportunities beyond the classroom.
  • Contribute to curriculum development and school improvement planning, ensuring alignment with the school’s educational priorities.
  • Foster a positive classroom environment by maintaining high standards of behaviour and discipline, ensuring a safe and productive learning atmosphere.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop and share effective teaching practices, supporting school-wide initiatives and professional development goals.
  • Engage parents and stakeholders, providing regular updates on student progress and actively contributing to parent-teacher communications.
  • Stay current with educational advancements, participating in professional development opportunities to continuously enhance teaching practice and student outcomes.
