The Focused Ultrasound (“FUS”) Laboratory at Sunnybrook Research Institute is looking for a committed and motivated individual to fill the role of Biomedical Mechanical Engineer (Regular, Full-time).
The successful candidate will join an interdisciplinary team of engineers and scientists to develop a professional-grade medical system for a transcranial focused-ultrasound therapy system.
Responsibilities:
- Design and develop mechanical components and systems for medical devices
- Initial prototype feasibility studies, testing, and evaluation
- Collaborate with electrical engineers, software developers, and clinical teams to integrate multidisciplinary approaches
- Prepare and maintain documentation for regulatory submissions and quality assurance
- Work within a continuous improvement framework to improve system designs, with an emphasis on system reliability
- Assist the research team on daily lab tasks and follow guideline
