Due to retirement, and maternity leave, two exciting posts have arisen for well-motivated and enthusiastic HCPC Registered Biomedical Scientists to join our team in Laboratory Medicine at Salisbury NHS Foundation Trust.
APPLICATIONS ARE INVITED FOR:
1 x full time HCPC registered Biomedical Scientist (band 5 or 6 dependant on meeting person specification and experience).
1 x 1 year fixed term HCPC registered Biomedical Scientist (band 5 or 6 dependant on meeting person specification and experience).
The department can offer guaranteed progression from Band 5 to Band 6 upon successful completion of the IBMS Specialist Diploma. As a Band 6 you will already have an IBMS Specialist Diploma in Clinical Biochemistry.
The laboratory is well equipped and highly regarded by its users, with a track record of excellent performance. It has just undergone a positive UKAS surveillance visit and is MHRA compliant
Hours of working: 37.5 hrs over 7 days
The laboratory is an IBMS registered training laboratory.
There is a strong training ethos in the department and as a Biomedical Scientist you will be given the opportunity for CPD.
In your role you will undertake day to day analysis and validation of results, together with the monitoring of quality indicators. You will participate in out of hours shifts once trained and competent in the relevant areas. The Biochemistry laboratory has a managed service with Roche and is runs 2x Roche 8000 lines with associated preanalytical modules. The Biochemistry laboratory also has a Specialist Protein Section using Sebia and Binding Site systems.
Good communications skills, teamwork and an aptitude for problem solving are essential, as is a flexible attitude to work and willingness to adapt to changes in working practice. The Ideal candidate will be keen to develop their knowledge and skills.
Contributions towards relocation expenses will be considered for the successful candidate.
