The BIS (Business Information Systems) AI & Emerging Technologies Platform lead will oversee the strategic development and operational execution of AI solutions to assure accelerated broad adoption across all domains of the pharmaceutical development lifecycle. This role will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure easy access to solutions appropriate to drive adoptions.
The individual in this role is a key leader within the BIS R&D team reporting to the Data Management & AI Lead.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS:

• Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field. Advanced degree preferred or equivalent through experience
• Proven significant experience in a leadership role within Digital Transformation or IT platform management.
• Strong understanding of current and emerging technology and their trends.
• Excellent knowledge of the pharmaceutical product development lifecycle and expertise in how AI, Machine learning and and other emerging technologies can drive new ways of working
• (Desirable) Understanding of the science behind biologic product development
• Excellent leadership and team management skills.
• Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
• High analytical capability with history of leveraging data, analytical & AI techniques to optimize business decisions. Willingness to be strategic and hands-on as required
• Understanding of the industry landscape and global regulatory requirements (e.g. GxP, HIPAA. GDPR, etc..).
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across departments and convey technical concepts to a diverse audience.

• Roadmap building: Key contributor into overall AI & Emerging technologies roadmap to enable or accelerate business outcomes
• Business Analysis: Perform in depth business analysis and translation of key business needs into understandable user stories
• Strategic Planning & Execution: Develop and implement strategic plans for the delivery of AI & Emerging technologies initiatives to accelerate business outcomes. Assure alignment and input into overall enterprise architecture
• Platform Management: Oversee the management of all components part of platforms, working closely with architecture and infrastructure team, ensure optimal performance, security, and scalability.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Drive implementations iteratively through collaboration with various business and technology functions . Guide and oversee the product-oriented development teams creating value for business and drive adoption throughout the business community
• Vendor Management: Manage relationships with technology vendors and service providers, ensuring high-quality and cost-effective services.
• Risk Management: Identify potential risks and implement mitigation strategies to ensure platform stability and security.
• Budget management: provide input into long term planning, yearly budgetting cycles and manage actual spending from a platform and use case perspective
• Competency Leadership: Lead and mentor a high-performing team of internal and external professionals, fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.
