QUALIFICATIONS:
Required:
- Minimum AAS degree in Biomedical Engineering, Electronics Engineering Technology or equivalent work/military experience in Biomedical Engineering.
- 3 to 7 years of hands on experience
- Medical equipment manufacture certification
- Advance knowledge of electronic test equipment
- Developed troubleshooting skills
- Knowledge and function of various medical devices
- Knows MS-Office and other computer applications
- Understands Medical terminology
Preferred:
- Knowledge of computers and networks
- Life support/life saving equipment manufacture certification
- Eligible for AAMI/ICC certification
- Leadership experience
SCHEDULING REQUIREMENTS:
- 8:00A 4:00P Mon-Fri
- On-call responsibilities - covered in 2- week intervals
- Working location(s)- Rahway, Carteret, and Scotch Plains
Responsibilities:
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Conducts preventive maintenance inspections appropriate to level of job competence using appropriate productivity & quality measures.
- Effectively responds to service requests, competently troubleshoots & repairs medical equipment appropriate to job proficiency level using established productivity & quality measures, demonstrating good judgment on performing component vs. circuit board level repairs.
- Inspects new medical devices & equipment with competence appropriate to job proficiency level.
- Assist Manager in maintaining and fulfilling the department/organization s regulatory requirements and goals.
- Demonstrates a thorough knowledge of shop safety on the use of departmental electronic test equipment.
- Participates in On Call duties after normal working hours.
- Upon assignment, assist Manager with responding to/correcting medical equipment recalls/device alerts from manufactures and/or F.D.A.
- Assists Manager in giving medical equipment in-services to both operational and technical staff for specified medical devices.
