QUALIFICATIONS:
As an Analyst you will be part of a dynamic corporate banking environment. We are looking for highly motivated, mature individuals with:
- Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or Master’s degree program with a graduation date of December 2024 or Spring 2025
- A minimum GPA of 3.4/4.0;
- Minimum of two finance and accounting classes with grades “B” or higher;
- Outstanding academic, achievement and peer recognition;
- Demonstrated leadership in extracurricular activities;
- Strong financial analysis and modeling skills;
- Proficient in Word/Excel/PowerPoint;
- Effective written and verbal communication skills are essential for presenting and writing reports;
- Detail oriented;
- Highly motivated, fast learning and able to work with limited supervision and adapt to frequent market, systems, and process changes;
- Outgoing and personable; team player able to work effectively in small groups;
- Knowledgeable in the principles of finance and the financial markets;
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment;
- Previous banking or credit risk management experience preferred;

Supports the origination and structuring of corporate lending transactions, and coordinates with other products as an integral part of a larger coverage team that maintains strong client relationships. Includes providing lending expertise for a variety of sectors, establishing credit facilities to support trading products business and facilitating credit approvals in support of Trade Finance products. Cross sells Corporate Banking products (e.g. FX / treasury products, cash management & corporate cards, commodities, investment management, securitization, leasing, Trade Finance products, etc.) to BMO Capital Market clients. Also provides ongoing management of the lending portfolio.
- Develops written internal and external marketing pitch material.
- Supports deal teams in development, presentation, and winning mandates.
- Reviews and assists in preparation of credit documentation (i.e. including applications, memoranda, presentations, etc.) for internal and external stakeholders.
- Seeks to develop an understanding of client needs and outcomes.
- Identifies opportunities for increased efficiency and improved service to internal and external clients.
- Provides analytical findings to deal teams.

- Typically between 3 - 5 years of relevant experience and post-secondary degree in related field of study or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Undergraduate degree has academic coursework in finance, economics, or accounting with an outstanding academic achievement.
- Has financial analysis training and experience.
- Has up to 3 years of relevant experience within investment and/or corporate banking unit.

Responsibilities:
- Research and analyze financial and operating information relating to current and prospective companies and industries.
- Prepare concise, accurate and well-reasoned written credit applications and memoranda for both new and existing transactions for presentation to Credit.
- Maintain current financial information on clients in order to perform timely annual reviews, financial covenants, and internal trigger monitoring.
- Perform financial statement analysis including completion of spreading software (RRT).
- Conduct credit risk analysis of transactions using all available sources of information including, but not limited to financial statements, legal documentation, etc.
- Assess financial soundness of counterparties including appropriate debt levels, debt service and repayment capabilities.
- Analyze transactions for structural strengths and weaknesses and structure appropriately to mitigate weaknesses.
- Review credit documentation for conformity with approved Credit terms and conditions.
Partnership Efforts
- Liaise with Global Markets areas and with various lines of business and operational areas of the Bank as required.
- Support Global Markets areas on portfolio management needs and growth initiatives of the business.
- Assist in updating Financing Guidelines.
- Participate in various projects as required.
