About the Role:
We have an exciting Permanent Full-time opportunity for a Board Administration Consultant based in Blackburn, reporting to the Secretary of the Property Trust.
The purpose of this role is to administratively support the robust governance framework of The Salvation Army in Australia (TSA), assisting the Australia Territory Board (the Board) to meet its governance obligations and to provide efficient, proactive, high-quality support and service to the Board and its relevant Committees.
The role will suit a person with excellent written and verbal communications skills, who operates with a high level of accuracy, confidentiality, professionalism, and stakeholder engagement. Your balanced set of skills include exceptional organisational and time management skills, with a demonstrated ability to plan, multitask and manage competing priorities.

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Ensure the smooth running of Board and Committee activities and forward planning to support meetings (i.e. scheduling, timely distribution of agenda and associated papers, , catering etc)
  • Attend Board and Committee meetings
  • Maintain Board and Committee member personnel files and assist with processing and recording of integrity checks
  • Monitor developments in relation to TSA’s corporate social responsibility, and support compliance with all statutory filing and regulatory reporting
  • Assist with the review process for governance related policies including the Governance Policy and the Whistle-blower Protections Policy

About You:
To be successful in this role, you will have proven professional experience supporting senior leadership roles with exposure to Boards, and governance and risk

Qualifications & Experience

  • A Business qualification such as Certificate IV or Diploma in Business Administration is desirable
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to build and maintain positive stakeholder relationships at the executive leveStrong technical capability with advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint) and cloud-based services (OneDrive, Teams and SharePoint)
  • Excellent time management skills and ability to work on numerous tasks with multiple stakeholders simultaneously
  • Ability to work decisively under pressure with a sense of urgency
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to work autonomously

Desirable (but not mandatory) Skills:

  • Experience using a Board Software Platform is desirable (i.e. BoardPro
  • Knowledge of risk management practices and standards such as ISO 31000:2009 and other Australian Standards relevant to Risk Management
  • Knowledge of the ACNC Governance Standards
