Description:

As Board Governance Manager you will work to support the Board of Governors and University’s Executive team, particularly the University Registrar and Secretary, to ensure the effective operation of the University’s governance framework and the delivery of the secretariat function.
You will provide a high quality secretariat service to the Board and its committees by supporting the Chair of the Board to effectively manage the Board’s annual cycle of business and ensuring the efficient running of all Board and its Committees meetings, including the production of accurate and timely minutes.
You will review and monitor the internal governance processes and procedures that form our internal governance framework, carrying out routine periodic reviews of key documentation, including the University Byelaws and the Schedule of Delegation. You will contribute to the development of the University’s governance framework and practices, making recommendations and implementing change via your willingness to identify sector best practice, engage and build your external networks and develop your knowledge and expertise in relation to governance within in higher education.
You will be responsible for supporting compliance with a range of statutory and regulatory duties related to higher education governance, including the Board’s obligations in relation to the Office for Students. You will enable effective working relationships between Board members and the University Executive Group with your excellent written and verbal communication skills, an outstanding attention to detail and exceptional organisational skills. You will have experience of providing support and advice to senior teams and ideally experience of working with Boards.
Reporting to the Head of Strategic Planning, and as part of the University’s Planning and Analytics Office, you will manage the operational workflow of the governance team and line manage the Board Administrator. You will be responsible for devising and delivering governor induction processes and training, running annual student governor training and supporting the planning and running of the bi-annual Board and University Executive Group Away Days.

This is a full-time position working 37 hours per week on a permament basis.
