POSITION DESCRIPTION:
The Board Secretariat is a key leadership role responsible for overseeing the governance, administration, and operational management of the Board of Governors. This role is integral in policy development, ensuring compliance, and enhancing Board governance. Reporting directly to the General Counsel, the Board Secretariat acts as a strategic liaison between the college’s executive team and the Board of Governors, providing guidance on governance procedures and supporting Board and committee functions effectively.
EDUCATIONAL AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
- Four-year degree in Business, Public Administration, Political Science, or a related field.
- Certification or training in Board Governance.
- Minimum of 9 years in an executive environment with experience supporting senior-level executives.
- Expertise in board governance, policy management, public policy, or administration.
- Proven track record of managing sensitive issues and collaborating with diverse stakeholders.
- Familiarity with the College sector, provincial legislation, and governance practices is essential.

- Excellent verbal and written communication, analytical, and project management abilities.
- Skilled in creating professional presentations and supporting documentations.
- Skilled in board governance models, records management, and conflict resolution.
