Description:
The Glennie School is an Anglican school for girls in Toowoomba, providing an exceptional education for Kindergarten to Year 12 students with boarding from Year 5. The School enjoys an excellent reputation for the quality of its programs, care and support offered to students, as well as the commitment, dedication, and professionalism of its staff.
Responsibilities:
The School is currently seeking Boarding House Supervisors for casual, term-time positions. We are seeking to appoint enthusiastic, capable, and responsible persons who invest in making a positive difference in the boarding lives of Glennie girls within the nurturing environment of The Glennie School’s boarding houses. These positions require applicants who:
- enjoy working with young adolescents;
- are willing to organise and coordinate enrichment activities to engage the boarders;
- are able to offer tutoring and academic support to the boarders;
- have the ability to problem-solve and take a commonsense approach to student issues; and
- have strong administration skills.
The successful applicants must be able to work afternoons, evenings and weekends. Rosters are across seven days per week during school term time with afternoon, evening and weekend shifts available. Afternoon and evening shifts commence at 3:00pm or 6:00pm until 10:00pm. It is essential that our Boarding Supervisors have availability to complete sleepover shifts in the boarding house at times.
Depending on the successful applicant, live-in onsite residential accommodation, inclusive of utilities, may be available for the right candidate. Boarding Supervisors are entitled to meals in the dining room during their rostered shift. For residential assistants who reside onsite in school-supplied accommodation, all meals during term time are included. Residential roles hours of work are 10 hours per week minimum with accommodation and meals as remuneration. Hours above this minimum are paid.
The Glennie School prides itself on the values that are imparted to students and will require the successful applicant to be supportive of the Anglican Ethos and comply with all state and legislative requirements under the operation of an independent school.
