The Wilhelmsen Port Services team in Panama is looking for a Boarding Officer to join our dynamic team. In this key role, you will be responsible for attending vessels calling at ports within our area of responsibility, ensuring smooth operations and efficient communication. Acting as a Wilhelmsen representative, you will liaise directly with vessel crew and officers, fulfilling requests and providing essential services. Your primary responsibilities will include:
- Attend and board vessels as directed in accordance with our standards of operations and customer requirements.
- Arrange all inward and outward formalities.
- Collect and process ships documents, as required throughout the port call.
- As applicable, ensure all requirements relating to cargo matters are well understood and relayed to manager and other relevant parties.
- Arrange sign on/off, shore passes or gate passes for crew/guests as instructed.
- Assist with transportation of master and crew as instructed.
- Ensure accurate, timely and professional communication to all external and internal parties.
- Maintain all the required information up to date in the company system
What we need from you?
- Good communication skills and a very good command of the English language (oral and written).
- Excellence service oriented mindset
- Pro-active and well organized.
- Preferable but not exclusive maritime operations experience
- Thorough and attentive to details
- Availability to work in different shifts (rotating schedule)
- Valid Driving License and own car
- Residence in Panama , Republic of Panama (permanent work permit for other nationalities)
