JOB LOCATION: CASTLEBLANEY, CO. MONAGHAN, IRELAND

Our client is one of Ireland’s leading car dismantlers and end-of-life vehicle treatment facilities. They are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Bodyshop Technician to join their team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for repairing and painting vehicles to restore them to their pre-accident condition. This role requires a combination of technical expertise, problem-solving skills, and a keen eye for detail to ensure that all repairs meet industry standards and customer satisfaction.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Education: Completion of an automotive technology program or related coursework preferred.
  • Experience: A minimum of 5 years of experience in automotive body repair and painting; experience in a fast-paced bodyshop environment is a plus.

SKILLS

  • Proficient in using body shop tools and equipment, including welding machines, spray guns, and hand tools.
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to high-quality workmanship.
  • Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot vehicle damage.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Strong organisational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks.

Responsibilities:

  • Vehicle Assessment: Inspect damaged vehicles to determine the extent of repairs needed, and provide accurate estimates for labor and parts.
  • Repairs: Perform body repairs such as frame straightening, panel replacement, welding, and glass replacement.
  • Painting: Prepare vehicles for painting by sanding, masking, and priming surfaces. Apply paint, clear coat, and other finishes using spray guns and other equipment.
  • Quality Control: Conduct thorough inspections of completed work to ensure that repairs have been completed to high standards and that vehicles meet safety regulations.
  • Customer Interaction: Communicate effectively with customers to explain repairs done on their vehicles, address their concerns, and provide updates as necessary.
  • Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations, ensuring a safe work environment for all team members.
  • Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of parts used, labor hours, and any other relevant documentation for each job.
  • Team Collaboration: Work collaboratively with other technicians, service advisors, and management to ensure timely and efficient workflow.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Ensure that tools and equipment are well-maintained and in good working order.
