Description:

ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE OF THE BOILERMAKER:

  • Previous Coded Welding or Pipefitting experience within a Marine Engineering or industrial environment would be advantageous.
  • You will be able to understand and read drawings and can think on your feet and problem solve with a high attention to detail and fault finding.
  • Ability to demonstrate attention to detail and a focus on producing high-quality work to meet acceptance standards.
  • Experience of maintenance procedures, risk assessments, method statements, COSHH assessments and Safe Systems of Work with excellent team working skills.

QUALIFICATIONS FOR THE BOILERMAKER / PIPE FITTER:

  • Recognised Mechanical Engineering Apprenticeship qualified to SVQ Level 3 (or NVQ and C&G equivalent) or HNC and above in an Mechanical Engineering discipline with industry experience.

THE ROLE

As a Boilermaker / Pipefitter, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. You will be joining a pro-active and engaging team of highly motivated and skilled professionals working on complex and cutting-edge equipment and systems. This role offers excellent development opportunities as well as access to specialised training to further enhance your skill set.
Day to day, you’ll carry out mechanical fitting activities including planned and preventative maintenance. This role is responsible for defect identification and repairs on various systems and you will be working within a team that is responsible for carrying out planned and reactive maintenance, testing and commissioning activities on specialist equipment across the Estates infrastructure
Hours of work will be Monday to Thursday - 8.05am to 4.45pm and Friday 8.05am to 12.05pm based full time, onsite at HMNB Clyde. You must be comfortable working at heights and in confined spaces.
