Description:

Founded in 2017 and headquartered in Calgary, Canada, Alcedio Capital Inc. is a financial firm known for its innovative approach to investment banking, financial advisory services, and capital deployment. Alcedio is now seeking a dedicated part-time or full-time Bookkeeper/Accountant for up to three entities and ad-hoc support on other entities as needed. We are open to exploring different approaches to the role which can range from part-time to full-time and with a potential hybrid work option. An ideal candidate will be able to approach the role requirements with a constructive mindset to find efficiencies and expand their abilities to other areas of Alcedo Capital. We are open to supporting further education such as a those completing an accounting designation.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

· Bachelor’s degree with a focus on accounting is not required but considered an asset.
· 5+ years’ experience in bookkeeping or general accounting.
· Understanding of the basic accounting principles; familiarity with full-cycle accounting is a plus.
· Proficiency in QuickBooks online and Microsoft Business Central.
· Strong Microsoft Office skills (Word, PowerPoint, Excel).

PREFERRED SKILLS

· Strong organizational and time management skills with strong attention to detail on data entry.
· Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while maintaining confidentiality.
· Proactive in driving efficiency and change in the organization as required.

Work Location: Hybrid remote in Calgary, AB T2P 0S

Responsibilities:

  1. Accounts payable functions including entering bills and expenses, reconciling statements, and processing payments.
  2. Management of employee expense report process and related payments.
  3. Payroll related tasks including running payroll and all related government requirements.
  4. Handling accounts receivable through generating invoices, tracking payments, and maintaining ledger accuracy.
  5. Preparing and reconciling bank accounts, credit card accounts, investment accounts, and inter-company transactions, ensuring proper alignment across entities.
  6. Preparing tax filings (Payroll and GST mainly) and maintaining accurate records.
  7. Support in preparing financial reports.
  8. Ensure compliance with company and accounting standards.
  9. Supporting senior leadership with ad hoc financial projects, analyses, and administrative tasks as needed.
