Job Description
The Bookkeeper / Administrative Assistant provides support for accounting processes including routine and non-routine functions in accounts payable and general accounting. This role reports directly to the Senior Administrator and is responsible for providing complete, accurate and timely accounting services to the California Closets British Columbia. The Bookkeeper / Administrative Assistant is a team player who possesses a positive attitude and is self-motivated, detail-oriented, organized, analytical and able to adapt to a fast-paced, changing environment.
QUALIFICATIONS
- 2+ years of bookkeeping and office administration
- Bookkeeping Certification and/or diploma
- Knowledge of bookkeeping practices
- Knowledge of relevant legislation and regulatory requirements
- Proficiency in computer applications such as Microsoft Office, Excel, Quickbooks, SAGE
- Detail oriented and able to work with minimal supervision
- Ability to multitask, work independently and prioritize and plan workloads
Additional Information
Hours: 30-36 hours / week, Monday - Friday
Pay range: $22-$25 / hour depending on experience

Responsibilities:
- Conduct weekly cheque runs and assist with audit request.
- Enter invoices and verify 3-way match for inventory invoices.
- Establish new vendor files.
- Reconcile accounts payable subsidiary ledger to general ledger.
- Review accounts payable batches for accuracy.
- Reconcile vendor statements and research and correct discrepancies.
- Maintain accounts payable files in an organized manner.
- Assist with month end and year end close.
- Enter marketing invoices into the company’s database and reconciling marketing expenses.
- Act as a backup for Accounts Receivable, create invoices and reconcile client accounts.
- Perform various administrative tasks as required.
- Ensure compliance with established company policies and procedures and incorporate procedural improvements when necessary.
