SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a bookkeeping or accounting role.
  • Degree in accounting or equivalent is preferred.
  • Thorough understanding of accounting principles and practices.
  • Proficiency in using accounting software packages
  • Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

Responsibilities:

ABOUT THE ROLE

As a Bookkeeper at Greenland Solution, you’ll be responsible for the day-to-day management of our financial records. You’ll work closely with the directors to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting, maintain sound financial practices, and contribute to the overall financial health of the company. The intention is to have the bookkeeper takeover the tasks the director is doing so that he can dedicate more time in the business. This role requires a proactive individual with a keen eye for detail, a strong work ethic, and a genuine interest in the success of a growing business.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Maintaining Financial Records:
  • Keep and evaluate records of financial transactions in account books and computerised accounting systems.
  • Prepare and produce budget and expenditure reports and analyses using account books, ledgers
  • Accurately record and maintain financial transactions in our accounting system, ensuring all data is up-to-date and reconciled.
  • Process invoices, receipts, payments, and other financial documents promptly and efficiently.
  • Reconcile accounts against monthly bank statements and verify recorded transactions.
  • Reconcile bank statements monthly, identifying and resolving any discrepancies.
  • Financial Reporting and Analysis:
  • Monitor cash flow and lines of credit.
  • Gathering information on work completed from labourers paid hourly to prepare relevant documents for the worker’s wages;
  • Gathering information from the work completed by labourers who are contracted to work and paying them based on the KPIs listed in the contracts;
  • Analysing any shortfall to make sure that the contracted workers are paid according to their terms;
  • Ensuring that meal breaks are factored into the contracted workers pay;
  • Collecting tallies from clients either through email or physical documents, and reviewing and comparing tallies from clients to see if it matches current labourers records;
  • Ensuring the tallies from clients are in line with the information of the work done by labourers(hourly/contractors).
  • Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and forecasts, taking into account seasonal fluctuations and business projections.
  • Compliance and Control:
  • May be required to prepare forms reporting business tax entitlements and obligations such as the amount of goods and services tax paid and collected.
  • Stay up-to-date on relevant accounting standards and regulations, ensuring compliance with all legal and industry requirements.
  • Collaboration and Support:
  • Report irregularities to the directors.
  • Work closely with the directors to provide financial information and support business decisions.
  • Collaborate with external parties, such as external accountant, as required.
  • Provide ad hoc financial analysis and support as needed.
