Description:

BOOKKEEPER

Due to explosive growth, we are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Bookkeeper to join our team, managing a portfolio of small and medium-sized enterprise (SME) clients across the UK.
The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of bookkeeping practices, be proficient with accounting software, and have a keen eye for detail.

DESIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Proven experience as a bookkeeper, preferably with a focus on SME clients.
  • Proficiency in using accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero and Iris.
  • Strong understanding of UK tax laws and financial regulations.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in financial record-keeping.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple clients and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Relevant certifications such as AAT, ACCA, or equivalent are desirable.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage bookkeeping services for a diverse portfolio of SME clients.
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with clients, providing excellent customer service and addressing their financial queries.
  • Record day-to-day financial transactions and complete the posting process.
  • Verify that transactions are recorded in the correct daybook, suppliers ledger, customer ledger, and general ledger.
  • Process accounts receivable/payable and handle payroll in a timely manner.
  • Reconcile bank statements and ensure all accounts are balanced accurately.
  • Prepare and submit VAT returns in compliance with UK tax regulations.
  • Assist in the preparation of year-end accounts.
  • Generate accurate financial reports, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest accounting laws and regulations in the UK.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant financial regulations and standards.
  • Implement and maintain best practices in bookkeeping and financial reporting.
